Schools and Visits – Week Commencing 29th February 2016
Another very busy week with many schools returning this week for their second visit of the term.
On Monday, Derby University brought their trainee secondary teachers to visit local places of worship and also took part in a faith workshop in the afternoon.

Whilst, Buxton Junior School visited the Mosque, Hindu Temple and Sikh Gurdwara with 40 of their children.
Wirksworth Junior School also had an assembly on Judaism, where they learned about Judaism through the arts.
Lady Manners returned for their last two visits on the Tuesday and Wednesday; visiting the Hindu Temple, Mosque and Sikh Gurdwara.

Riddings Junior School took part in two Jewish Marriage workshops and Chasetown Community School visited the Synagogue in Nottingham.

“Excellent hospitality. Great content. Children were allowed to handle artefacts. The content was at the children’s level. Well organised. Attention to health and safety was impressive.”
Becket Primary School came back with the rest of their year 6 children to visit the Sikh Gurdwara.
Shirebrook Academy also returned with the rest of their year 7 students to visit the Hindu Temple, Mosque along with taking part in Hindu Marriage workshops in the afternoon.
The week finished with Pennine Way Junior School having two Islamic talks with a specific focus on Haj.
Next week, we have another busy week with visits and workshops as well as both Mobile Exhibitions being out in schools.
